Our next concert is on Saturday 18 November at 7.30pm in the beautiful setting of St Mary’s Church, Banbury. It is a concert of Remembrance. Once again we are delighted to be joined by members of the Adderbury Ensemble and by two young soloists, Benjamin Watkins and Joshua Dennis. Our chosen pieces are united in their message of reconciliation and we hope that this concert will be both a moment of reflection at a time when war continues to rage in Europe and now in the Middle East, and in recognition of all those who strive for peace.

Jenkins’ The Armed Man and Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms both reach thematically and structurally across communities and languages: Bernstein through his combination of traditional Hebrew psalms with a Christian musical setting, and Jenkins by embracing texts and musical idioms from many cultures.
