Join Chipping Norton Choral Society for their 2026 Autumn concert – Rossini’s incredible Petite Messe Solennelle. Written in 1863, 34 years after his final opera William Tell, this mass setting is anything but ‘petite’. In typical Rossini fashion this work is full of character and drama with its grand scale. Originally scored for the odd orchestration of two pianos and harmonium, the piece was written for twelve singers, four of whom also sang the solo parts; our performance will be for one piano, harmonium, four soloists, and full choir. So join CNCS for this wonderfully exciting, expressive, and incredibly dramatic evening of music.
